The Canny Owl, newly transformed for 2026, offers delicious food, a relaxing atmosphere and a wonderfully warm welcome, and it is also where you’ll find the soft play area, swimming pool, games room, sauna and plunge pool. 

The outdoor play park is the perfect place to burn off excess energy, and there is also the opportunity to give fly fishing a go (subject to stock and season). Entertainment at Riverside

Riverside offers relaxed, welcoming entertainment from April to November, with a lighter, cosy programme during the winter months. During off-peak periods, the focus is on weekends, with daytime Create & Make workshops, Discovery Den sessions and Top Fox Adventures. Evenings feature early Kid's Time followed by visiting live musicians, quiz nights and fun games like Bingo. 

During peak (English school holidays), the programme becomes livelier, and gets filled with creative workshops, nature-inspired seasonal activities and water-based leisure experiences during the day. Kid's time in the evenings, is followed by family specialty acts, themed vocal shows and live performances, proudly celebrating talented local musicians.

Our Location

Riverside is located in the town of Wooler on the edge of the Wooler Water. 

From the south, follow the A1 north to Morpeth and take the A697 to Wooler. As you enter the town, Riverside is on your left. From the North follow the A1 south from Berwick-Upon-Tweed, and take the first turning right signposted Wooler (the B6525 Berwick Road). At the end of this road turn left through Wooler town, following the road to the A697 (Morpeth). The park is situated on the right as you exit the town.
