Major £4 Million Investment For Thurston Manor

We're thrilled to announce that we're investing £4 million into Thurston Manor Holiday Park, the biggest investment in Verdant Parks' history. The transformation will introduce Thurston Manor as a flagship destination amongst our parks, welcoming brand-new facilities, food and entertainment for holidaymakers, owners and the local community of Dunbar.
Our goal is to enhance the guest experience, using customer feedback to help shape our plans and focusing on the experiences and facilities that matter most to our owners and holidaymakers. The investment will offer a wider choice of family-friendly activities, updated facilities and a bigger range of holiday accommodation.
Work is due to start in early November 2026, and we're planning a Grand Opening for Easter 2027.
A new pool experience
Transforming Thurston Manor's swimming facilities will be at the heart of our investment, with the existing pool being expanded to create an 18-metre swimming pool. We will also be welcoming a brand-new toddler splash area, designed specifically for little ones to enjoy their first water adventures. The upgraded pool will also include a jacuzzi, steam room and sauna, so there'll be something for everyone to enjoy, from toddlers and children to adults seeking a spot of relaxation.
We'll also be upgrading the gym facilities, offering guests more opportunities to stay active during their getaway.

As part of the investment, we'll also be revamping Thurston Manor's entertainment complex, introducing brand-new indoor and outdoor activities. The new social hub and activities complex will bring together a wonderful range of entertainment under one roof, offering a fantastic new experience for guests with plenty to keep everyone busy.
Alongside the recently renovated playground, families will be able to enjoy a new soft play area, upgraded games arcade and interactive darts. The bar and restaurant is also being refurbished, welcoming a brand-new sports bar, as well as a transformed showbar, home to a fantastic programme of live entertainment.
Outside, guests can unleash their competitive side with a new pirate-themed 9-hole adventure golf course, giant chess and a host of new activities designed to bring people together. Among the new activities will be table tennis and curling, as well as the multi-use sports court, which was installed earlier this year. We're also introducing the area's first padel court, adding one of the UK's fastest-growing sports to Thurston Manor's offering.
A new outdoor terrace will create a new social space for guests to enjoy throughout the year, providing a mix of open-air and covered seating for al fresco drinks and dining. For those with a sweet tooth, there will also be a brand-new ice cream parlour serving up a delightful range of tasty treats.
The investment will also welcome more accommodation, with new pitches and holiday homes providing a wider choice for families, groups and couples to find their ideal stay.
