We’re on the hunt for the UK’s first 'Chief Holiday Home Experience Officer'

To celebrate the launch of our brand-new 2025 holiday home development at our Queensberry Bay Leisure Park, we’re offering one lucky applicant the chance to become our very first Chief Holiday Home Experience Officer.  

This isn’t your average job. It comes with a free weekend stay in one of our stunning caravan or lodges in Queensberry Bay Leisure Park, the chance to explore the tranquil coastline of Dumfries and Galloway, and full permission to put your feet up. Your task? Simply let us know what it’s really like to holiday at Queensberry Bay. 

Whether you bring your dog, your partner, your best mate, or the whole family — we know the best breaks are made by the people (and pets) you share them with. As Chief Holiday Home Experience Officer, you'll review the accommodation, the park facilities, the local gems, and of course, our on-site bar and restaurant, The Sandpiper. 

Set against the peaceful shores of Solway Firth, Queensberry Bay is a haven for those looking to switch off and reconnect with nature. Our collection of holiday homes is nestled in a beautifully landscaped corner of the park, just a short walk from Powfoot Beach. Here you will find a wide range of homes, from lodges to caravans, both preloved and brand new.  

Our brand-new development has been thoughtfully designed to create lasting holiday memories. With new roads, subtle low-level lighting, and generous parking, every detail has been considered. Any one of our holiday homes (preloved or new) can be placed on one of the 21 new pitches - we're excited to see what our Chief Holiday Home Experience Officer thinks.

Skills and experience required

The ideal candidate will be someone who loves a UK holiday and is willing to speak openly and honestly about their experiences. We want someone who will jump feet-first into this role, experience all they can in our holiday homes, the park and the local area.

The role

You will spend the weekend in one of our new holiday homes, so you can fully test everything. We would also like to hear your thoughts about our park and the local area, if you venture out!

Who will be judging your application

Mike is the CEO of Verdant Leisure. A true wildlife enthusiast, Mike loves to see people explore the British and Scottish countrysides while enjoying a well-deserved holiday. Mike himself lives in the Lake District with his family and dogs and can often be found hiking mountains at the weekend.  

Bobby Northmore

Ownership Manager  

Bobby has over 13 years of experience in the holiday park industry, including nine years specialising in holiday home sales. For the past five years, he has been a dedicated member of the Queensberry Bay team, where he has helped more than 110 owners find their perfect holiday home - whether it’s their very first, an upgrade, or their forever retreat. 

Terms and conditions

To avoid any confusion, the role of 'Chief Holiday Home Experience Officer’ is not a paid, permanent position at Queensberry Bay Leisure Park. The Chief Holiday Home Experience Officer is an honorary title which the winner should wear with pride, as well as being gifted a weekend break at Queensberry Leisure Park.  
 
The break is subject to availability and must be booked directly with Verdant Leisure. Holiday booking terms and conditions apply. Break excludes all main school and bank holidays. The winner will be chosen and contacted by email by 31st October 2025. Prize is non-transferable and there is no cash alternative. 
 
The winner, as a condition of receiving the prize may be required to participate in any publicity or promotion organised by Verdant Leisure. Emails sent to online@verdantleisure.co.uk will be stored securely in line with Verdant Leisure’s Privacy Policy. Emails will not be used for marketing purposes or passed onto any third parties. Prize must be claimed within 28 days, if it is not claimed within this time, another winner will be chosen.
